Pictures again?!

Aight......I know I done asked about these pics one time too many, but I recently looked at my year book and fell out (specifically from senior bum day '92). Any way after discussing my laughter with others, the idea was raised that we should do a then and now segment on the blog. Since it's easier to send me a recent pic with the invention of digital cameras, I think it's doable. Leave the then picture up to us, just send the now. Don't give me that "I ain't got no pictures now" garbage 'cause half o' y'all on myspace right now! So be good sports y'all....aight!?

So, if you've changed jobs or weren't a member of this blog when this info was requested please forward the information back to Jamall at jamall12@yahoo.com . We love the social aspect of the blog but it's purpose is also to allow us to network with one another. He Repped Black Harlem, We Gotta Rep Him

This post was also sent in by a number of people who are friends with a sister by the nasme of Lanise. I'm not sure if Lanise went to Manhattan Center, but we support her. Chk out the information below:

Hello all.
Today I am contacting you on a very serious matter. I know most of you
know, but for those who do not, my grandfather Bobby Robinson owns a
very long standing business in Harlem. In fact the store he owns is the
first African American owned business on 125th street. The store was
opened on Aug. 12, 1946. 61 years ago. He was also one of the first
African Americans to own independant record labels and music
distribution. He was a pioneer in the production of Hip Hop music with
his Enjoy record label being the second to produce a Rap recording.
Bobby's record store was instrumental in promoting local and
internationally known artist. Such as Gladys Knight and the Pips, whose
first recording he produced, James Brown, Smokey Robinson (the list of
artists goes on and on) So, Long story short this is our history and WE
are responsible for protecting it. If we don't protect it and express
just how important it is to us. OUR legacy and our history it WILL
be LOST!!!

The property was purchased by Sigfeld,LLC and Kimco Management, LLC
I am asking everyone to call and/or write everyone on the list below to
express your interest in preserving what represents the best of Harlem.

Please send to all in your address book

You Know Y'all Don't Read...........

Aight, aight...I know that many of you have seen the "Read a Book" cartoon. I have never received the same e-mail from so many people, soo.........here we go! Is this cartoon offensive or is it a wake up call for many of the ignorant people out there. This topic is rather funny because I recently had a discussion (or argument depending on where you were standing) regarding BET as a "Coon" network due to its lack of neccessary information to African Americans & it's overwhelming attempt to market everything conceivable to Black people. So how right or wrong is the cartoonist for putting this out there. Aight, don't be scarred to speak your mind! If you haven't seen this video go to YouTube and type in "Read A Book" or E-mail me at & I'll get it to you. Now I know some of us are going be like "I got bigger fish to fry", but please let us know what you think. We don't want to perpetuate 'ignance', but propel enlightenment; so holla back!
