Psst...Wanna Make Some Money?

Happy New Year and blessed greetings to everyone.

Last year, our classmate Kamal Cubas reached out to us about an amazing business opportunity, one that could indeed change our lives and offer us financial freedom; as he currently enjoys the beginnings of living the rest of his life having his time back! He does not work the traditional 9 to 5 anymore & grows his money, now, 24 hours everyday!!

I made the decision to take on this opportunity and am here to tell all of you that Kamal was on point with this one; it's very real! By being humble, coachable and "smart" working, Kamal is showing and working with me on growing my involvement in receiving passive and residual income.

I am indeed on my way to achieving "financial freedom", which is far greater than being "comfortable and secure". In just 3 months, I have already reached an executive position in the company and am part of a team of documented millionaires, OUR AGE. I'm sure that many of us have jobs that we enjoy, while some of us may hate going to work everyday. Well, the beauty of this opportunity is that we can offer those who are seriously looking for more, a way to achieve this in 12 to 24 months! No joking. This opportunity again I stress, is only for those who seriously want change in their lives.

I believe they are many out there who want more - more money, more time for family, more time and ability to help others, and more time to just plain 'ol live life for real. Now is the time that we can all make that happen. I'm doing it, Kamal is doing it, and we can all do it. You all know me, I haven't changed and I would never misrepresent myself by presenting to my friends some BS that doesn't work. With that said, I would like to invite all of you on a day trip to experience and bear witness to this opportunity. Next Saturday, January 12th, our mentors are hosting an event in Baltimore, Maryland, where you will be introduced to what our opportunity has to offer. It will be hosted by the CEO, President and Co-founders of our team who partnered their organization with this company in June of 2006 and have literally made millions.

I implore all of you to seriously consider attending, it is free for all. For all those that are interested, please email me at coop_ra@hotmail.com and we will work on a plan for this Saturday January 12th, to take a day trip to visit with Kamal and his...and now our, partners & mentors.

Peace and love...

Christmas at Tiffany's?

Happy Holidays family, as many of you know I am in the mortgage industry and it being the end of the year I am offering some incentives for referral business. I currently pay $500 for a referred client who closes a loan with my brokerage. Due to the holidays I'm going to spice it up a little with some season spirit. If you refer a client to me who closes on a mortgage from now until Jan. 10, you will recieve the $500 plus a $250 or $500 Tiffany & Co. gift certificate. This is for real. So speak to friends, members of your church congregation or your co-workers. We handle purchases, refinances, construction loans and more. If you have any questions e-mail me at jamall12@yahoo.com and I'll explain anything that might be left out. So show me a lil' support and I'll so some holiday love!

Vote or Die Huh? Can You Believe This?!!

I'm sure most of you have heard of 'The Voters Right Act' that was signed by Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965. If you haven't..it supposedly allows black people the right to vote and was amended again by Ronald Reagan until this year. Supposedly G.W.(George Bush) assured the NAACP that he would sign the act for another 25 years! Am I the only one who doesn't understand how this even came about? All I want to know now is what y'all think regarding this. This is truly unbelievable.

Let's Show Our Support

Hey folks let's show some support for Denica! Chk out her post:

Greetings All,

Hope all is well. The reason for this email is that my husband Faheem is releasing his first solo album and we need your support in making this successful. We're not asking that you buy the entire album but to only buy one song for $1. Reason being is that he is trying to get representation in Midem and he needs a certain amount of downloads in order to qualify. His music is positive, uplifting, thought provoking, and constructive. His link is www.zoomoozik.com/ftheelemental your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Feel free to share this info with anyone you think may be interested.

It's Late But Let's Still Participate!

There was or is a blackout going on from the 1-3rd of this month. We are supposed to keep our dollars in our pockets and not buy anything. Being so most of you are getting this late try and implement this blackout for at least one day! We should try and show some solidarity. Sorry about the lateness, but let's try and support!

Jena 6

Tommorrow is the judgement for the young men in Jena. It has been asked that everyone wear black in support of there trial and their livelihood. Click on the link to sign a petition that has been going around. Also click on the link for a YouTube video on the topic; I had a slight mishap with the video but you can still click on it and view. Here's an e-mail that was sent to me regarding the trial.

colorofchange.org/jena/

It is wonderful to promote your business and entertainment news. This is important information that will benefit us all in America! It's 2007 and we are still fighting this bull. MLK started it and the struggle continues!!!

Mark this day in your book. Michael Baisden is asking all to attend the sentencing of the Jena 6, Louisana young black boys on September 20, 2007. These boys can go to prison for life behind a high school fight against white students. This is serious family, and could be any one of our youths. If you are unable to show up and send a message about Racisim than Michael Baisden is asking all to wear Black that day for Unity and send a silent or loud prayer to those young men who are fighting racisim on behalf of us all.

Stuck? You Pay Me

Check this out...I'm sittin' here watchin' my man Dominic on Inside City Hall, and Mike Bloomy is paying $400 for high school graduation, $600 for each regents exam passed? What's going on?! Should a mo-fo get paid for what they s'pposed to be doing!!? A lot of interesting topics arise when we discuss this. Should this be looked at like a way for poverty stricken people to get ahead or is it just another hand out? My thing is at what point would you stop this program and what happens when everybody and, literally, they mama go graduate to get a check...Now if you ask "how we goin' pay for it?", it would be from private funds. So again, what's really good? Does it help to pay parents to come to the PTA meetin'? Please tell me what you all think?

Another Fun Day!

Aight......Ms. Rasheeda Coop's has been harrassin' me and buggin' me about how she got this going on n' that going on, so I'ma put y'all on. She is trying to organize a Ski Trip for 2008. You can find out exactly where the trip will be and the cost by contacting Ms. Cooper at coop_ra@hotmail.com. So holla at her so she can stop hollerin' at me! Seriously though (& I'm only kiddin' Coop's), it sounds like a lotta fun folks, so let's try to make this happen.

While You Paradin'.......

If you don't know Harlem is where it's at. This is never more true than during the 38th Annual African American Day Parade. The Parade marches down Adam Clayton Powell Blvd (7th Ave) from 111th to 142nd or 145th street every year. So while your enjoying the Harlem festivities go chk out Leo, SoArt & AllHipHop.com on 5th Ave at Nubian Heritage. Come out Sunday and support African Americans and show your love for Hip Hop. I'll see y'all there!

Pictures again?!

Aight......I know I done asked about these pics one time too many, but I recently looked at my year book and fell out (specifically from senior bum day '92). Any way after discussing my laughter with others, the idea was raised that we should do a then and now segment on the blog. Since it's easier to send me a recent pic with the invention of digital cameras, I think it's doable. Leave the then picture up to us, just send the now. Don't give me that "I ain't got no pictures now" garbage 'cause half o' y'all on myspace right now! So be good sports y'all....aight!?

He Repped Black Harlem, We Gotta Rep Him

This post was also sent in by a number of people who are friends with a sister by the nasme of Lanise. I'm not sure if Lanise went to Manhattan Center, but we support her. Chk out the information below:

Hello all.
Today I am contacting you on a very serious matter. I know most of you
know, but for those who do not, my grandfather Bobby Robinson owns a
very long standing business in Harlem. In fact the store he owns is the
first African American owned business on 125th street. The store was
opened on Aug. 12, 1946. 61 years ago. He was also one of the first
African Americans to own independant record labels and music
distribution. He was a pioneer in the production of Hip Hop music with
his Enjoy record label being the second to produce a Rap recording.
Bobby's record store was instrumental in promoting local and
internationally known artist. Such as Gladys Knight and the Pips, whose
first recording he produced, James Brown, Smokey Robinson (the list of
artists goes on and on) So, Long story short this is our history and WE
are responsible for protecting it. If we don't protect it and express
just how important it is to us. OUR legacy and our history it WILL
be LOST!!!

The property was purchased by Sigfeld,LLC and Kimco Management, LLC
I am asking everyone to call and/or write everyone on the list below to
express your interest in preserving what represents the best of Harlem.

Please send to all in your address book

You Know Y'all Don't Read...........

Aight, aight...I know that many of you have seen the "Read a Book" cartoon. I have never received the same e-mail from so many people, soo.........here we go! Is this cartoon offensive or is it a wake up call for many of the ignorant people out there. This topic is rather funny because I recently had a discussion (or argument depending on where you were standing) regarding BET as a "Coon" network due to its lack of neccessary information to African Americans & it's overwhelming attempt to market everything conceivable to Black people. So how right or wrong is the cartoonist for putting this out there. Aight, don't be scarred to speak your mind! If you haven't seen this video go to YouTube and type in "Read A Book" or E-mail me at & I'll get it to you. Now I know some of us are going be like "I got bigger fish to fry", but please let us know what you think. We don't want to perpetuate 'ignance', but propel enlightenment; so holla back!

Starting Today...I Kknow You Wanna Grub

If y'all like to eat like I like to eat check this out from Washington Heights own Mr. Vasquez!

Hey All:

I know coming from me this is a little strange, but its one of those few opportunities that you have nothing to lose and all to gain....and wanted you all to take advantage.. let me know if your coming thru..

We are once again, delighted to invite you to join us and FREE dining courtesy of our 2nd Annual Taste of Washington Heights and Inwood (TWHI), scheduled for Monday, June 18th, 2007. The first Taste of Washington Heights and Inwood became the most highly talked about food-related event in Northern Manhattan. We plan on making this second year even bigger and better by extending it into a week long culinary celebration of Northern Manhattan.

As you may already know, the TWHI is organized to complement the launch of the “Northern Manhattan Dining Guide” (now in its 4th printing), which serves as an updated survey of the best local eateries in the area. This year’s event will mimic the previous epicurean extravaganza by gastronomically transporting the attendees to different regions of the globe, but will also serve as the kick off for TWHI Week; a week long opportunity to enjoy pre-fixed meal specials, discounts and other promotional activities at various Northern Manhattan eateries.

HERE ARE THE FACTS:

Get Money, Money Get Money, Money, Moneeey!!

As most of you know Jamall Simmons ('92) is a Mortgage Consultant with a Brooklyn Mortgage Brokerage. For the next three months there will be $500 referral for any individual that is sent to him for a loan.....that closes. In other words, the people you refer must go through with the mortagae process completely in order for you to recieve your incentive. You can split it with them or keep it all for yourself, that's entirely up to you. So you have up until June to refer your associates, friends, family members and so on. This is on the up and up Ladies & Gentlemen, you will not have to come looking for your money...you will get paid! If you have any questions for Jamall you can reach him at jamall12@yahoo.com or give him a call at 646-2444-0401. Who knows, you could possibly earn over a thousand dollars if you send enough people.

Just in Case You Haven't Heard

This news has been circulating for some time now. It's a very important opportunity that Harvard is offering. Here is an excerpt and some contact info to assist anyone this might help. Please pass it along.

Harvard University has announced that from now on undergraduate
students from low-income families will pay no tuition.
In making the announcement, Harvard's president Lawrence H. Summers
said, "When only 10 percent of the students in Elite higher education
come from families in lower half of the income distribution, we are not
doing enough. We are not doing enough in bringing elite higher education to
the lower half of the income distribution."
If you know of a family earning less than $60,000 a year with an
honor student graduating from high school soon, Harvard University wants to
pay the tuition. The prestigious university recently announced that from
now on undergraduate students from low-income families can go to Harvard for
free ... no tuition and no student loans!
In addition, Harvard announces reduced fees for students from
families with incomes between $60,000 and $80,000. To find out more about Harvard offering free tuition for fami lies
making less than $60,000 a year visit Harvard's financial aid website
at:
Harvard University Gazette: Harvard expands financial aid for low-
and middle- or call the school's financial aid office at (617) 495-1581.

Who's who & who was you?

There has been some talk on reunions; in particular the class of 1992. A couple of you have suggested that we attempt to find old photos of our prom and graduating events. I'm going to take it a step further. I'm asking for any and all pictures that you can find that will show us back when, or if you like, back then. Anything that will utterly embarass your friends or shame them beyond forgiveness is what we want to see! This is extended to every graduate of MCSM. So dig deep and see what you can drum up. Please NO RUDE OR TOO LOOSE PICTURES!!! We are trying to roast a couple folks, not start any wars. So keep it clean, aight?!!! By the way, there may be a prize for the wildest or best photo submmitted so come wit it! Please don't get salty cause we lookin' back in the day!

In Mourning

I regret to inform everyone that Rosa Nieves passed away on February 24 at Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, Florida. She was laid to rest in Isabella, Puerto Rico on March 2. Rosa is survived by her 4 year old son Trevor and her 3 year old daughter Daimond. Rosa graduated from Manhattan Center in 1991 and had three siblings that are all Manhattan Center graduates. Please send any words of encouragement to jamall12@yahoo.com so that her family might see the posts here on our blog or can be forwarded them. The Nieves Family also asked to extend thanks to all those who kept Rosa in their prayers; Rosa will be sorely missed.

Class of 1992...Is it reunion time?

Ok class of '92 it has been posed that we have a 15th instead of the regular 20 year because....well we got it like that. So the organizers need your assistance and input. Firstly, does anyone remember the name of the location where we held our prom? It was thought a good idea to hold the reunion there. So please get back to us regarding this information if you have it. Secondly, please offer your input towards activities you might like to see or participate in conjunction with the reunion. So you can send replies to Jamall at jamall12@yahoo.com and I will see that your input is put on the blog and forwarded to the organizers. Let's make it happen.

Get That Refund!

Jamall Simmons would like to ask if any of the MCSM 'alum' have done their taxes already. He is currently doing tax preparation for Ty Asssociates, a reputable company located in Mt. Vernon, NY. The fee is reasonably priced and returns can be done with simply your years end paystub (however it is always easier to have a W2). Returns can be prepared for any state in the country. If you have any questions contact Jamall at 646-244-0401, jamall12@yahoo.com, or at jamall@tyassociates.com. There is also a $50 referal fee for any one you send to Ty Associates who completes their return. All returns are subject to client approval; if you are dissatisfied witht the amount of your return or the costs of fees you aren't obligated to go forward with the return. Sounds pretty fare. Give him a call to get more info, could be a good way to earn some extra cash for the tax season.

Peace to JB.It's Late, but Must be Done For a Great

I'd like to give a farewell shout out to the 'God Father of Soul' Mr. James Brown. I did a James Brown imitation at my MCSM high school graduation...inspired to dance like James Brown is what I should say. Mr. Brown was a shining example of achieving greatest and living to the fullest. Goodbye to an American icon; he'll be sorely missed.
The Lil Harlemite.

Hold Me Down ......It's Gettin' Heavy

I know, I know. Y'all thinking "Weight a minute..what's up with all them links on the blog......it's gettin to commercial! Let me explain. In keeping with the focus of convenience & accessibility, it was deemed imperative to allow the receivers of this blog (as you use your respective PC's, laptops, PDA's & notebook devices) the option & privilege of avoiding the continuous enertia of surfing the web. Frankly, it is only logical that we would like to afford our 'MSCM What's Happening Now' readers, affiliates and partisans (as you read and are kept abreast & up to date with your fellow alumni & MCSM family) the ability to faclitate & navigate to & through the various & multitudinal sites on the internet. A ready & easily cohesive bond between our blog and the rest of the world was merely a matter of time. So the decision was made for the addition of sites which may be deemed invaluable, productive & progressive as well as of interest. We would hope that you delight in this inclination of the abilities that this blog is now attempting to offer & that you will partake in it's appropriateness & serviceability. So, in other words: You ain't got-ta go all ova the web when you kin git to da spot right from here gunny...so please, be easy! Ai-ight!!? Sites will be added as they get to us (including yours).Thank you.

Whatchay'all think?

I've been hearing people talkin' about a my space page. I don't know if we need it being so this blog is operational. However, it might be a good way for everyone to kinda go bonkers with the socializing. Personally I just started an account about a week ago and it's pretty fun....Out side of all the world that uses it, there are a number of informative and productive groups on this site. Argueably (is that spelt right?) we are sort of tryin' to do our own myspace right here.....so whatchay'all think? Give me some feed back.
